Novium is presenting student rights and working for all the students to get fairly treated. We want everybody who study at Novium to get a high level education and to have an amazing time at the university!
All students that studies on bachelor level or is an exchange student gets a tutor. All members get their student card and student benefits. As the statutory student union at Novia, it’s Novium’s duty to choose student representatives at Novia. Novium is there for you as a student, so if you have any questions or ideas, don’t hesitate to take contact or just pop in to one of our offices.
Tutors
Together with Novia University of applied sciences, Novium educate four different tutors. Friend-, international-, PR- and educationtutor. A tutor is a student who has a function to supervise and guide other students. All tutors get a special tutor education, student points, a hoody and a boilersuit badge. The PR-tutor also gets a salary.
The educations are arranged by the responsible of tutors in the board of Novium, together with the committe of tutoring and the secretary of tutoring. The responsible of international acitivity, the committee of international activity and the secretary of tutoring take care of the education of international tutors. The responsible of social policy, the committe of educational politics and the student affairs secretary take care of the education of exercise tutors.
Person of Harrasment
Have you ever felt unfairly treated or maybe got indisposed treated by a teacher or a student? Do you feel discriminated or improper criticized? The delegate of harassments is there for you, who have experienced any of these.
The student affairs secretary of Novium acts as the delegate of harassments. Contact the delegate of harassments, who provides professional secrecy, by this e-mail: hej@novia.fi. Don't hesitate to take contact, even about smaller issues. You're allowed to be anonymous.
International students
Every year Novia university of applied sciences has a huge amount of international students. Some of the students spend a brief time at Novia, and others spend up to four years as an English speaking full-time student at the university. Novium is a student organization , and has a function to look after the interests of the international students, as well as their integration in school and Finnish society. Every autumn the student union arrange an education for all the international students. The tutors shall welcome the international students and help them getting comfotable with their new studies. The tutors also organize events that help the international students to get to know each other.
In addition to the international tutors, Noivum also has a committee of international activity. The committee dispose an event for all the international student two times a year, one in the autumn and one in the spring. Novium cooperate with other student organizations as well, to create a wider network for the international students and give them a worthwile experience in Finland.

There are several student associations at Novia’. The associations provide students with overalls and arrange student events. Below are a few of the student associations and where they are active. SKRUVSTER
Skruvster is the student association for all Novia UAS students in Pietarsaari. We aim to make the study life as fun and pleasant as possible through events, contact with other student associations, as well as through local advocacy for students. SKUFFIS
Skuffis is the student association of the agrologists in Ekenäs. The association was founded in the beginning of the 20th century and is still going strong! Our motto is “As a Skuffis you’re tougher”. Contact us at skuffiselevkar@novia.fi.
N.U.D.R.F.
N.U.D. are located in Vaasa at Seriegatan. There are nurse-, midwife-, social work-students as well as stylist and beautician students. Those who study welfare wear white overalls, while the rest wear green overalls. Visit N.U.D. on Facebook or on. nudrf.com
